Lyn Evans: A few questions
1) Does anyone have a definitive list of commands and functions use in PF? does http://www.projectforum.com/formatting.html help?
2) Search is good, but it only returns the page, not where or how many times a term is found. Does anyone have any solutions to this, the only workaround I have is to use Firefox page search in the pages PF lists, in effect searching twice. I have a lot of pages now, searching becoming an issue. Google desktop is no use, PF in a database it doesn't understand ?
3) I have been trying to make each and every page in my site have a simple navigation bar (back to home and the pages referenced etc). I have a page call pageheader that defines this, then in every page I create I use [Could not find page]. I want to add some color and fonts to this bar. I have tired to enclose text and PF commands in between HTML but end up with weird results, as the PF commands do not get translated. Any ideas ?
4) I use firefox with spelling checker, it underlines bad spelling in red. Why when I am using PF and editing a page in RICH TEXT MODE, no spelling errors are shown however in source edit they are all listed in red. Firefox even recognise spelling mistakes in this dialogue box for this post ! What do you think? the rich text editor pulls a lot of tricks to accomplish what it does, so it's probably not surprising that you're seeing this... there are apparently options in the richtext editor we're using (TinyMCE) that will allow supporting the spelling checker, but we haven't yet tried that out.
Interested in any comments and help on the above.
I guess we are all individually doing cool things with PF, lets share some ideas !

Matthias Hoffmann: I we download the slideshow.zip from your site and add them to our local side, slideshows do not work correctly anymore. After deleting slideshow.zip (the service needs a restart first) slideshows are working ok. Could it be that the provided slideshow.zip is out of date? 2nd Question: do the themes in slideshow.zip completey replace all build in themes, or are they added to the build in themes?
The provided slideshow.zip was for S5 1.0, included for PF<5.0. There were changes in S5 1.1 which is what is currently included, so they are not compatible. Providing a slideshow.zip will supplement the themes that are built-in, with any having the same name as the built-in ones replacing them. Matthias Hoffmann: Thanks so far. Is there an easy way to retrieve the existing theme file to use them as a skeletopn for our own themes (besides loading them manually...)? Ok, we found the answer
here.

Matthias Hoffmann: The problem in using URLs which are using intrapage-anchors like "...#heading37" is that these are not fixed: if I insert another ***Heading*** in that page before heading37, the orginal link will become "...#heading38", so the original URL coded somewhere will point to the wrong paragraph within the page...
Sorry, but as you'd imagine, those links are not really meant for anything other than use by the table of contents. To create interpage links for other uses, you'd have to do it separately

Matthias Hoffmann: Not only the list of pages, as I stated earlier, but the
list of attachements is ever growing, so loading of this page and sorting takes longer and longer... Perhaps some kind of
hierarchy would make sense here, too. Additionally, informationen about the number of references to each attachements would help to quickly identify unused files.
Noted...

Matthias Hoffmann: What's going on in our test-Installation: right after creating a new group, the errormessage "could not find page 11" appears... Oh, I see: I must first log in with the user which is marked as the site admin....
That sounds odd, we'll look into it

Matthias Hoffmann: Another one regarding S5: Is there a chance to merge h1 and h2 into the div class="layout"-block, so that the author and date of the slide show appears in the footer area? I mean something like [slideshow:theme:author:date] etc., or i.o.w.: More control over the appearence of the slideshow would be great...
Suggestion noted, but its not likely an area we're going to do much with. Needless to say the possibilities here are endless, but the intent has always been to allow creating very simple slideshows

Matthias Hoffmann: Just noticed that editing a page which has a [slideshow:]-statement as the very first statement, it (sometimes) shows as <input></input> in the editor.
Noted, thanks

Matthias Hoffmann: Slideshows without a structure (***Elements***, or perhaps ----) won't output anything, even no warning or error message!
Posted at Jun 16/2008 03:34AM:
Matthias Hoffmann: Big Problem: if a page contains -statements, these are silently removed after editing and SAVING in WYSWYG mode, thus destroying the page layout. Still WYSWYG-Mode makes problems here and there; it couldn't be used as the general edit mode.
Unless protected in html blocks, arbitrary html code is not guaranteed to be preserved; you may want to think about creating custom links for these various HTML snippets, rather than using them directly. We are considering one or two alternative approaches that would complement this, but for now that is the way to go

Matthias Hoffmann: Yes, I forgot to use ==...-notation here... but this doesn't work (I use - instead of = here):
------
<div align="right">[http:266/edit image:1231122]</div>
------
because the [...] isn't interpreted anymore, and even
------
<div align="right">
------
[http:351/edit image:1231122]
------
</div>
------
does not what I want. Hm...

Matthias Hoffmann: Better note it twice then never: If in WYSWYG mode (what initially seems to be true), and JScript is turned off via noscript-Plugin, then
the editor starts showing pure html (at least with
SeaMonkey - I think this could be a potential problem.

Matthias Hoffmann: Here's one regarding the
enterprise version: the greater the number of users, the harder it is to manage them all individually. Sort of
UserGroups would simplify things. Without groups, I tend to think a batch api (interface) could solve complications...
Posted at Jun 27/2008 08:17AM:
Matthias Hoffmann: Somewhere, I read about a way to predefine the structure (content) of newly created groups. Unfortunally, I forgot where I read this and how it goes...

Jay: It seems that when you export a group, the relative URLs work except for Projects...is that correct?
Posted at Aug 06/2008 12:53AM:
Matthias Hoffmann: I just wonder what exactly "recent" means with "recentchanges". In one group, I suddenly only see
one change; the other ones, which are done a few days ago, aren't listed anymore....
